Cory Shawver
March 2008 - Present
Cory L Shawver has served as President of the Lorain County Young Democrats since March of 2008 and won re-election in February of 2009. He formerly served as LCYD Vice President, Deputy Executive Director, Deputy Secretary, and Chairman of the Campaigns and Elections Committee. When appointed Deputy Secretary in 2006, Cory was just 16 years old, making him the Youngest person to hold office in the State of Ohio.
While serving as President, Cory also enjoys working on many campaigns. He has served as Campaign Manager for Jim Walther for Judge, Chase Ritenauer for State Central Committee, and is currently serving as assistant campaign manager for the Pat Riley for Lorain Law Director Campaign. Other campaigns he has worked on include Ted Kalo and Betty Blair’s campaigns for County Commissioner, Geoff Smith for Judge and several city council campaigns. In 2006 Cory served as the County Coordinator for the Lorain County Democratic Party. He worked with all of the Lorain County Candidates as well as handled all of the state wide candidates’ Lorain County campaigns.
Besides being involved in the Democratic Party, Cory also is a student at LCCC and is a 2008 graduate of Amherst Marion L. Steele High School. He is involved in the Sustain Lorain Committee, the Black River Historical Society, and the Black River Masonic Lodge #786. He is employed at Riley, Resar, and Associates, P.L.L. in Lorain.
