Get Involved

It can be very intimidating to get involved in a political organization or campaign, but it doesn't have to be. The Lorain County Young Democrats are here to help you with opportunities to expand your skills, make new connections, and express your passion for politics. Graphic artists, computer programmers, web designers, construction trades and others all have a place in our organization and in a political campaign.

Here are just a few ways you can get involved:

Join one of our committees- If campaigning is not your thing then consider being part of the membership, fundraising, or outreach/marketing committees.

Community Service- Our organization takes part in different projects, you can show your true Democratic spirit by serving those in our community.

Issue Advocacy- Do you have a deep passion for an issue? Do you want to influence policy leaders? Then be apart of our discussions at our monthly meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of every month (except December). You will also get to meet these leaders on a regular basis to express your opinions and ask questions!

Professional Networking- You will meet a diverse group of people with a variety of careers and educations. Getting involved in the social aspects of the organization is probably one of the easiest things you do. We try to get out some where after each meeting and plan side adventures like a local minor league baseball game.

Campaigning- This is the bread and butter of our organization. The activities range from helping at a spaghetti dinner or going door-to-door for a candidate, but it also can include web page designing and updating, artistic help, and much more! Candidates and Democratic Party organizations come to us for help and we pass those opportunities along to you!
